SAN ANTONIO — When it comes to the top 20 most haunted places in Texas, San Antonio makes up 35% of that list, according to Yelp. The number one haunted place is the Driskill in Austin.

Open since 1859, the Menger Hotel is perhaps the most famously haunted place in San Antonio, with no fewer than 32 known spirits.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio is a place with 300 years of history, and remnants of the past will often lead to ghost stories. The city is filled with places that are reportedly haunted.

It may be spooky season, but in San Antonio the haunts are year-round, and several downtown spots topped Yelp's list of the 20 most haunted places in Texas.

San Antonio, one of the oldest cities in the U.S., and its surrounding area host plenty of ghosts. That history was recognized in the 2023 Top 25 Historic Hotels of America Most Haunted Hotels list.

13th Floor Haunted House San Antonio, which is celebrating its 15th year of providing thrills and chills, will open Sept. 13 and run select nights through Nov. 9.

San Antonio's Menger and Hilton-owned Emily Morgan hotels again ranked among the nation's 25 most haunted, according to a recent Halloween-themed report from the Historic Hotels of America trust.
