The U.S. military will order more than a thousand additional active duty troops to assist with U.S. Customs and Border

It was not immediately clear what units and service branches would be tapped for the deployment, but the announcement comes amid the Trump administration's executive actions directing a comprehensive military border mission.

The troops will assist border patrol agents with logistics, transportation, and barrier construction, tasks they have handled during previous deployments.
