The Trump administration announced Friday that it is expanding a fast-track deportation authority nationwide, allowing immigration officers to deport migrants without appearing before a judge.

An immigration group sued on Wednesday to block President Donald Trump's move to expand fast-track deportations under his pledge to remove millions of people who are in the country illegally. People facing fast-track deportations do not have access to an attorney and are unable to present evidence against their removal from the U.

Just one piece of Trump's plan, the Laken Riley Act, would require at least $26.9 billion to ramp up capacity at immigrant detention facilities to add 110,000 beds.
