Buffalo Bills' running back James Cook got his contract extension on Wednesday and general manager Brandon Beane used it as an example to detail what the team's preferred approach is when it comes to building the roster.

“Bills GM Brandon Beane said he was at first worried about the James Cook hold-in becoming a distraction, but believes the core of the team knew what this was about, and everyone was level-headed,” The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia posted on X, formerly Twitter.

James Cook and the Bills made it official on Wednesday morning, with the running back signing his contract extension.
