DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department has launched an investigation into an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon. The shooting took place in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive, DPD said in an X post. DPD sources told WFAA a person was waving a gun at motorists and when officers got to the scene, shots were exchanged.

Police were responding Tuesday afternoon to an officer-involved shooting in Far East Dallas. Officers were dispatched about 3:20 p.m. to the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive, near Ruidosa Avenue. A police call log showed more than a dozen units at the scene.
