BioWare appears to have bid farewell to any further updates for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, following the launch this

Electronic Arts revealed its financial report for the third quarter of the fiscal year. It explicitly admits that Dragon Age: The Veilguard did worse than expected.

By Thursday, the publisher had lost $6 billion from its market value of $37.3 billion, following the pre-earnings news. EA FC generates around $2 billion annually, Reuters reports, with around $800 million of that made up by Ultimate Team.

In giving official confirmation to the long-held assumption that the game released to a less-than-stellar reception, EA has admitted that

A new game, particularly one ten years in the making after a GOTY-winning sequel, underperforming by a full 50% is dire. You’ll also notice from the wording there that it says “engaged” not “sold,” as this number includes those who might have played via EA Play. So sales are likely not much above a million.

Patch 5 for Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available to download now on PS5, weighing in at around 500MB. But it's actually BioWare's patch-accompanying comments that are the big talking point here, as it suggests that support for the action RPG is already coming to an end.
