House Republicans early Thursday took a major step forward on President Donald Trump’s agenda, approving a legislative package that combines tax breaks, spending cuts, border security funding and other priorities.
The “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” will remove almost all Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax credits for renewable energy projects, with looser restrictions for advanced nuclear projects. The bill will now pass through the US Senate, where its specifics may be subject to change.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed the House of Representatives by a 214-213 vote early Thursday morning. It now goes on to the Senate. Among a slew of other provisions, the bill moves the expiration date of EV tax credits from December 31, 2032, to December 31, 2025.
