Bone-chilling cold and slippery secondary roads closed Flint-area schools for the third straight day on Thursday, Jan. 23. The closings come after another overnight with single-digit temperatures and lingering snow showers expected to continue through early afternoon.

Most school districts in central Ohio have canceled classes Wednesday due to the extremely cold temperatures. An Arctic front made its way to central Ohio on Monday, bringing with it the coldest air that central Ohio has felt in more than two years.
