Jul 11, 2011 · Can some one help explain the differences between the John Deere tractors listed on the JohnDeere.com website and those found at Home Depot and Lowes? There is obviously a difference in quality, but it's not clear what exactly is the difference. thanks!

Feb 27, 2012 · HUH? JD makes all their lawn and garden tractors, and has since 1963. The higher priced units are made in Horicon, Wisonsin, while the L-series (now D-series) are made in a John Deer plant in Tennessee. MTD doesn't have anything to do with John Deere lawn tractors.
