Dec 3, 2023 · They didnt care. So Yes, size matters, double check when get to the gate. AND my bag is still in excellent shape and not over packed. The wheels didnt fit, when in the past, the whole bag easily slid into the bin. Frontier altered their bins like Carnie rigs their games.

Jan 7, 2023 · So if personal item can be no larger than 18x14x8 and sizer is at or very slightly smaller than those dimensions, item could be allowed size but need to be pressed into sizer. Sounds like Frontier is being naughty and charging for items that meet their size requirements...exactly 18x14x8 would not just slide in; it would need to be pressed in.

However on my return at Pearson airport Toronto I put roller bag in Flair sizer there and it didn't fit properly. Couldn't squish it completely. Nevertheless the agent gave me a break. Upon further review online I found that Canada airline personal size measures are two inches smaller than US airlines. My next flight will be with a backpack

Frontier has started making everyone size their free personal item (with no carry-on) at the gate. Even backpacks. Every Frontier flight I've taken in the last year or so I've had to size my personal item. I purchased a suitcase from Boarding Blue that matches the EXACT personal item dimensions, and it fits like a glove every time.

I flew out of Denver this morning and the gate agent made everyone stick their personal item inside the measuring tool to make sure it fit before scanning their boarding pass to board.
