Jul 27, 2016 · '16 base GTI with 205 section WS-80 winter tires running on dedicated 16x7 Sparco Terra winter wheels. The durable white painted wheels and fat sidewall actually looked cool/rally-ish with my night blue, in my opinion.

They used the same EA888 engine in MK6 GTI that was in the late MK5 GTI (2008ish) that carried over ALL of the faults - Timing chain tensioner, plastic water pump, intake manifold, rear main seal, to name a few. 3 generations of that engine ALL with the same faults. There was a class action lawsuit about this engine in the states that VW lost.

Feb 14, 2022 · This is my 10th VW, 3rd GTI and I also currently own an 84 Vanagon Westfalia and a 70 Porsche 914 so I for sure appreciate the VW heritage and all the classics, IMHO the MkVIII GTI is a well though out and very fun to drive car.
