The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) is comprised of five commissioners appointed to rotating, five-year terms by the governor.

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio is the state agency responsible for the oversight of utilities such as natural gas and electricity and the enforcement of safety regulations for motor carriers and railroad crossings. Approximately 300 staff work at the PUCO in a variety of positions.
