Herpes Zoster is a common viral infection which you see in day to day practice. It is caused by a virus called the varicella zoster virus. This virus and the chicken pox virus are the same. So, when you get chicken pox virus in childhood, the virus doesn’t leave the body, it remains latent or sleeping inside the neurons or nerve cells of the body.
