In 1964 the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade featured Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis, in full makeup as Herman and Grandpa Munster being driven in their Munsters Coach. What wasn't known, thanks to makeup artist Karl Silvera, was that Gwynne prepared for the cold parade by drinking alcohol from the bottle that he brought just for that purpose. It seems that Gwynne over-prepared and started to launch F-Bombs and the like towards the crowd, so Silvera would crank up the recorded Munsters theme to help ble
